What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Screen flickering started just out of warranty Almost exactly 13 months after purchase I started getting really bad horizontal bars that flicker on and off every second or so. I suspect the monitor runs a bit hot, and over time some of the soldering must have melted. For what I paid for this monitor, I am extremely disappointed. Now I'm stuck paying out of pocket to have it repaired. Prior to this I did love the product, but this has soured my experience with LG. In the future I will be choosing another brand with better support.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Size is great, speed is great, glow is ridiculous At this price point (or any really), getting a monitor where 1/2 the screen has excessive light glow is pathetic. Waiting for the second year to start on the credit card extended warranty so I can get the money back and go shop for another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Ultrawide! I started my ultrawide experience a couple of years ago with the Acer X34. I later tried the Asus 34" ROG ultrawide but had to return it. It wasn't any better than the Acer. Last year I tried both the new MSI and the Alienware 34 Ultrawide. Both of them the screen clarity and quality of the picture was worse than my X34. Super disapointed with them. In my endless quest to find a monitor with less ghosting and higher refresh rate led me to this monitor. Stock out of the box is 10x better than any other monitor I have tried yet. The color is better, it's smoother and much easier on the eyes. I love the user interface as well! I have noticed some interesting artifacts on some movies but a few adjustments and it was good again. This is a great monitor, you will love it!

i broke my DP cable for LG 34GK950F-B monitor. what cord should i replace it with so i get my 144hz ultrawide?

Asked by: 9val2
Hi Sval2. Unless the cable is identified as RBR, it is a standard DisplayPort cable and will support all DisplayPort configurations. Despite what you may read, there is no such thing as a DisplayPort 1.1 cable and DisplayPort 1.2 cable. Any DisplayPort cable can be used with the LG 34GK950F-B 34 Inch 21:9 UltraGear™ QHD Curved IPS Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™. A standard DisplayPort cable is designed to work with any DisplayPort Source device, such as a PC or laptop, and any DisplayPort monitor. This means that a standard DisplayPort cable will work with the very first DisplayPort systems and displays introduced around five years ago, and they will continue to work with the newest and future systems and displays that support multi-stream and display resolutions up to 4K (Ultra HD) at 60Hz. You can also use a standard DisplayPort cable between a PC and a multi-stream hub, or between daisy-chainable multi-stream monitors. You don’t need to worry about getting a special cable to support certain DisplayPort capabilities. The only rare Reduced Bit Rate (RBR) cables on the market that will support only up to 1080p, but these are generally restricted to projector installation applications.exception to this are the a few ...^IFV

Will my gtx 1070 work with everything that the LG 34GK950F-B can do?

Asked by: NASOYMOSO
The LG 34GK950F-B 34 inch 21:9 UltraGear™ QHD Curved IPS Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™ is not an Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync™) NVIDIA-tested and officially verified G-Sync® Compatible monitor, that Nvidia has tested as one that will deliver a baseline VRR experience on GeForce GTX 10-Series, GeForce GTX 16-Series, and GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics cards, and activate their VRR features automatically. G-SYNC Compatible testing validates that the monitor does not show blanking, pulsing, flickering, ghosting or other artifacts during VRR gaming. They also validate that the monitor can operate in VRR at any game frame rate by supporting a VRR range of at least 2.4:1 (e.g. 60Hz-144Hz), and offer the gamer a seamless experience by enabling VRR by default. For VRR monitors yet to be validated as G-SYNC Compatible, a new NVIDIA Control Panel option will enable owners to try and switch the tech on - it may work, it may work partly, or it may not work at all...^IFV

does it support nvidia 1080ti

Asked by: Milko
The LG 34GK950F-B 34 inch 21:9 UltraGear™ QHD Curved IPS Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™ has a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 and a native Refresh Rate of 144Hz. It is a Radeon FreeSync™ 2 monitor but it is not an Nvidia-tested and officially verified G-Sync® Compatible monitor that can work with Nvidia cards. Will I see a drop in color gamut drop if I use the extended free sync setting, when I pair this monitor with a nvidia GPU? The color gamut has been showed to drop from 135% to 99% SRGB when enabling extended fressync range

Asked by: Fgc11
I found this on the review of this monitor on http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg_34gk950f.htm#vrr A note about possible colour drop in Extended FreeSync Mode and how to fix it Once the extended FreeSync setting is enabled, you may notice a drop in the colour gamut of the display, visible to the naked eye. This seems to be a software bug relating to FreeSync as opposed to anything specific to the display. This is easily resolved, as confirmed with several readers. You should make sure you have the latest AMD graphics card drivers and then you need to go in to the colour settings section of the AMD control panel and change the colour temp setting from "auto" to "6500k". You may need a reboot for it to take effect.

I've done everything and I still cannot enable HDR on the OSD. I've updated the firmware, installed the software, but there is no option to enable HDR as described in the manual. HDR shows off in the on screen display no matter what mode I use.

Asked by: swizzley
If you are using Windows 10, type "HD Color Settings" in the search on the start menu. You can then toggle "Play HDR games and apps" at which point HDR will be enabled. This is a static contrast ratio monitor and can't actually support high dynamic range brightness. It can support ultrawide color gamut though which does look very impressive compared to sRGB.
